Liskeard Musical Theatre has been an established group since 1870. Their members, aged between 16 and 78 years, greatly enjoy providing entertainment to the general public in the Caradon area. In March this year they put on a production which was originally written in the 1870s, Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘Pirates of Penzance,’ at Carnglaze Caverns.
The Grassroots Grants programme, administered by the Cornwall Community Foundation, provided them with a grant to cover costs of the venue for the production, coach hire, hire of the orchestra, advertising, printing of programmes and tickets and towards extra Insurance.
The coach provided free transport to the elderly, people with limited mobility, carers and people on low incomes so they could experience a great show in a spectacular venue.
