Community Grants Programme (European Social Funding)
ESF Community Grants
Cornwall Enterprise, Cornwall Community Foundation and the Cornwall Rural Community Council are pleased to announce that the new Community grants programme is now available in Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly.
The programme, which is funded by the Learning and Skills Council, through the European Social Fund, is aimed at supporting projects that:
“Assist the disadvantaged or excluded to move closer to the labour market by improving their access to mainstream provision/ESF and domestic employment and skills provision”. The people who can benefit from the programme must therefore be unemployed or employed for less than 16 hours per week.
The programme is aimed at supporting voluntary and community organisations with charitable aims, to deliver projects that will achieve some of the following outcomes for the beneficiaries.
- confidence building,
- mentoring/support,
- Help with basic skills and life skills
- Training advice and first contact engagement activities.
- Providing learning or training opportunities which seek to increase skills
Priority will be given to projects that target one of the following groups, individuals with disability & health issues, lone parents, 50+ years, ethnic minorities and females.
Community Grants will not fund projects for which provision is available through ordinary ESF funding programmes.
- More than 1 year funding will be considered subject to targets and evidence of your project e.g. project plan, with a clear end date.
- No more than £12,000 will be funded per annum. So, for a larger project £24,000 could be funded over 2 years (subject to above and no more than £12,000 per annum). However, due to the timescales of the CGP, projects can only receive funding until September 2010.
There will be calls for applications for each round of the programme which will end in September 2010. These will need to be submitted before the closing date for each round to enable applications to be appraised and go to the funding panel for a decision. The first closing date for applications is the 25th February 2009 and the 2nd closing date is the 18th May 2009.
