Cornwalll Glass Fund supported Endelienta
6 April 2016
Endelienta is a charity to foster arts in North Cornwall. They celebrate music, literature and arts by hosting events such as their well known annual North Cornwall Book Festival.
The Cornwall Glass Fund invested £1,000 towards their North Cornwall Book Festival that had an emphasis on supporting reluctant readers. The award helped with the cost of an education day for invited schools - ‘Booksurfers’ and ‘Little Bookworms’, and ‘Writing in Healthcare’ workshop for adults on using poetry as therapy. Both these events were led by authors.
200 children took part in the schools education day, the adult workshop was oversubscribed and very well received.
Cornwall School Co-ordinator commented “In terms of the talks and workshops I was absolutely thrilled with how everything went. All the authors were fantastic and the children seemed to be thoroughly engaged with it all. Feedback so far from both Book Surfers and Bookworms regarding the talks has been great”.
The Cornwall Glass & Glazing Fund was set up 6 years ago by Cornwall Glass & Glazing Ltd, where it was the company’s long term ambition to be able to set up a charity, to contribute and support its surrounding community and has invested a total of over £45,000 in community groups across Cornwall.
