Helping young mums

The first grant CCF gave to The Wild Young Parents Project (WILD) was in 2003 and it enabled them to run a fun surfing programme for young mums.
WILD is a specialist service for young people under 23 years old and their children. It has been running since 1992 and offers training and skills development with the goal of helping these parents find employment, boost their self-esteem and achieve their potential.

WILD currently has 11 groups running across Cornwall from Penzance to Torpoint and by last year it had helped
WILD is seeking to help break the cycle of deprivation by providing young parents with essential peer support, parenting advice, housing and debt management skills, voluntary work opportunities and issue-based workshops,
as well as a crèche for their children.
