Highway Farm Activity Centre
11 November 2013
The aim of the project is to provide opportunities to improve lives of those in need throughout Cornwall, through outdoor experiences.
“Out and About” works with children, families, youths, the physically disabled and those with mental difficulties, people who are unemployed, carers, children in care and any group or individual who would benefit. It is situated in the village of Four Lanes on the outskirts of Redruth in 1.5 acres of land with purpose built facilities.
Martin Besford says: “Our ethos is back to basics, good old fashioned outdoor play, learning and adventure.”
Activities include things like outreach play, outdoor learning skills such as bush craft and survival, special sessions for disability inclusion and community bonding and healthy lifestyle skills,I think it allows opportunities for a varied range of groups and organisations to deliver some amazing activities and opportunities to an extended and much-in-need section of the community. It allows organisations and groups to undertake projects that just would not be able to run without financial help from CCF. “
