Live at Home Scheme
26 November 2013
The Camborne and Redruth Live at Home Scheme provides a lifeline to older people who feel isolated and unable to access everyday services.
The scheme has been supported by the Cornwall Community Foundation since 2006 and now offers support and friendship to more than 100 people through a network of around 25 volunteers, each who visit members in their own homes, arrange four Friendship groups, a monthly lunch and an outing.
The grants provided by the CCF have ranged from a few hundred pounds to £4,000 and are mainly used for entertainment or transport.
The Camborne and Redruth Live at Home Scheme was the winner in the Foundation’s community category award in 2009.
