Wadebridge Youth Project
15 December 2015
Wadebridge Youth Project provides a safe and encouraging environment providing 3 weekly groups, welcoming all young people. They arrange activities to include offering young people opportunities to participate in challenging sport and life skills activities, social events, community work and fundraising. These are essential in helping young people build the confidence and self-esteem to enable them to make long term healthy lifestyles choices.
The Trenouth Solar Farm invested £5,000 towards a sessional youth worker to co-ordinate, plan and oversee two youth sessions per week. Plus a weekly drop in session at Wadebridge School to establish a mentoring programme. Richard Hamm, Chairman commented “We have created a good foundation for the growth of youth activities in the Wadebridge area”.
In the early days of the Trenouth Solar Farm Fund the programme covered the Wadebridge area however due to the need to prioritise those areas closest to the farm Wadebridge town is no longer an area listed on the criteria.
