Fundraising event donations from Duchy Hospital
20 March 2014
The CCF is very grateful for the support from Duchy Hospital. The Cornwall 100 Club member Duchy Hospital held several fundraising events recently and kindly donated £580 and a projector to the CCF.
Chris Sealey, Duchy Hospital’s General Manager said ‘Duchy Hospital has been involved with the Cornwall 100 since the very beginning, and we are delighted to continue to support this important locally focused charity. When they asked whether members had a projector they could borrow to use for fundraising and information events we were delighted to be able to help. We have recently undergone significant expansion and as part of that had upgraded our conferencing facilities, so we had a spare projector which we were happy to donate to the Cornwall 100 Club.’
The CCF’s business arm, the Cornwall 100 Club is a group of like-minded businesses who along with taking Corporate Social Responsibility seriously, also want to invest in their community. The Cornwall 100 Club awarded a total of £40,300 in 2013.
Duchy Hospital is one of the founding members of the Cornwall 100 Club that was established six years ago in March 2008 to support local projects in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The funding from the Club helps local people to make their communities better places to live; in particular they encourage projects which incorporate a combination of the following themes:
Improving community spaces (village halls and outside recreational spaces)
Providing a service the whole community can benefit from
Business and communities working together
