St Breward Memorial Hall receives funding from the C100
11 March 2015
The St Breward Institute and War Memorial Hall received £573.50 funding from the Cornwall Community Foundation’s business arm towards the purchase of long tables and chairs. Cornwall 100 Club member Kate Simms from St Enodoc Hotel visited the project.
The Hall has recently been re-furbished and the additional tables and chairs made it possible to have sufficient seating in each of the two main rooms of the Hall eliminating the risk of people hurting themselves carrying tables and chairs up and down steep stairs. The new tables and chairs enable both rooms to be used at the same time by different groups. Over 150 people use the hall on a regular basis, and it is also used for one-off events such as children's parties and receptions.
Kate Simms, General Manager of Cornwall 100 Club member St Enodoc Hotel, said “It was lovely to see a community working together to provide a welcoming environment for all to enjoy”.
Veronica Stansfield, Secretary of the Memorial Hall said “The support of Cornwall 100 Club for our much loved Community Hall is very much appreciated, and when 100 Club Member Kate Simms from St Enodoc Hotel recently visited the Hall to present a cheque for £573.50 for the purchase of addition tables and chairs, a lot of people came along to say thank you - 5 committee members, 11 members of the Art Group and the Chairman of the Parish Council and his wife!!”
“In thanking Cornwall 100 Club for their kind and generous grant, Ivor Chivers from the Hall Committee commented that the weekly exercise class was the only one of 11 local organisations that used the Hall who would not be using the additional tables and chairs!!”Back
