The CCF is welcoming applications to the new Ruth Burden Community Trust.
This fund supports community projects within the parishes of Launceston South and Central, Lawhitton, South Petherwin and Lezant. Grants range from £250 to £1,000, larger sums can be awarded in exceptional circumstances. First time applicants will take priority.
The CCF administers the Ruth Burden Community Trust on behalf of Mrs Burden. Ruth Burden said “I am delighted to offer this annual grant aid specifically for the local voluntary groups over the next 20 years to make a positive difference in their community, and would encourage especially any new initiatives to apply within the local neighbourhood.
Trish Draper, from Clean Earth Energy Ltd (CleanEarth) based in Wadebridge said "Scarne Farm turbine is another project developed by Clean Earth Energy Ltd (CleanEarth) based in Wadebridge, Cornwall. The turbine is a 500kw EWT 54 with 50m hub height standing at 77 meters to tip. The turbine will generate approximately 1.2 million kwh per year - sufficient to power the equivalent of 350 homes. In common with all such CleanEarth projects, a substantial index linked contribution will be made annually.
In conjunction with Mrs Burden, the landowner, we are pleased to be working with the Cornwall Community Foundation in assuring that this benefit will be fairly distributed to worthy causes within the local community. CleanEarth are dedicated to the future of renewable energy within an engaged community.”
