CCF awards Comic Relief funding to groups in Cornwall
20 November 2015
CCF has awarded £12,887 of Comic Relief funding to five organisations in Cornwall. The grants have been awarded to five groups, including the Cornwall Independent Poverty Forum who will use their £5,000 grant to provide emergency accommodation for 16 to 25 year olds who find themselves homeless throughout Cornwall and Cornwall Down's Syndrome Support Group who will use their grant of £1,433 to enable young people with Down’s Syndrome to take a qualification to allow them to run their own dance workshops.
Kirsty Philpott from the CCF said: “This is a fantastic boost for Cornwall and the community groups who operate primarily on a low budget with dedicated volunteers. This will enable those groups to development and enhance the lives of the most vulnerable and socially isolated members of our local community”
The CCF manages several grants programmes on behalf of Comic Relief. More information about how the CCF is working with Comic Relief, and details of how to apply for a grant can be found on the website.Back
