More than £800 raised at hotel tea party
4 May 2016
The Royal Duchy Hotel in Falmouth, part of family-owned Brend Hotels and currently AA Hotel Group of the Year, held a very successful Afternoon Tea Party in aid of The Cornwall Community Foundation on Bank Holiday Monday – raising more than £800 in funding through ticket sales, a raffle and an auction.
It was the first time that the sea front hotel had held such an event and, despite uncertain weather initially, around seventy people turned up to enjoy sumptuous food on the terrace. Talented vocalist Tamsin Ball provided musical entertainment and, as the sun shone some couples took to the lawn to dance, whilst others, at the far end, played bowls.
“We’re very happy with the way everything went – all our guests were very complimentary,” said hotel manager Barry Taylor. “We were delighted to support CCF and look forward to doing so again at our next tea party on Saturday 11 June.”
That event will again take place from 2-5pm. Tickets cost £25 per person, with 10% discount for groups of ten or more. £2 from each booking will be donated to the Cornwall Community Foundation. Tickets can be purchased from the hotel reception or call 01326 313042 to reserve them.Back
