New endowment fund for Lostwithiel
24 February 2017
We are very grateful for a generous donation that has enabled a new endowment fund to be established to support community projects and transform lives in Lostwithiel.
Our benefactors, who have chosen to stay anonymous, wanted to make a difference in Lostwithiel and they have decided to create a named endowment fund with the Cornwall Community Foundation.
The fund will support voluntary activities in Lostwithiel and St Winnow that help to maintain the traditions and culture of these communities. This might include helping voluntary activities, events or the environment of these communities.
The type of activities or organisations the Fund aims to help are:
- The voluntary gardening or planting of community areas including seasonal decorations (but not to substitute for work which is the responsibility of local government, councils or other public bodies);
- Musical activities or theatre for public performance done by volunteers, such as community based bands, choirs or drama groups;
- Support for the communities’ heritage and its awareness, such as museums or voluntary preservation groups – but not including activities which are the responsibility of public authorities; private individuals or organisations; or other funded charitable bodies;
- To support cultural or folklore events identifiable with or traditional to Lostwithiel or St Winnow;
Further details about application deadlines will be published later.Back
