300 community foundation delegates share best practice at UKCF Conference
15 September 2017
Chair of Trustees Jane Hartley joined four members of the Foundation staff team at the three day, bi-annual United Kingdom Community Foundation (UKCF) Conference in Cardiff in September. The Conference attracted more 300 delegates drawn from 46 member community foundations across the UK.
CEO Tamas Haydu says, “This was an important opportunity to learn from experts and specialists who delivered presentations both in the main conference sessions and in specialist workshops. It is also vital to be able to meet colleagues from other community foundations. Whilst we are separately governed organisations, most of the issues and opportunities are shared.” Jeremy Ward, Development Director, comments, “I was very impressed with the presentation of Clotilde Perez-Bode Dedecker, CEO of Greater Buffalo Community Foundation in the US. She highlighted how Buffalo Foundation had focused on key priorities, identified clearly the impacts they had made and had grown endowed funding very substantially as a result.”
The team attended many specialist sessions including digital innovation, impact measurement, working with professional advisers, fund development and legacy giving.
Tamas adds, “When we returned from the Conference we combined our individual feedback. We are using this to improve our current operations and development as well as influence out future strategic direction.”Back
