Cornwall Glass to grant £400 to 40 community groups celebrating 40 years in business

Cornwall Glass celebrates 40 years in business and to mark this milestone is awarding 40 grants of £400 from their Cornwall Glass Fund to community groups throughout Cornwall. Mark Mitchell, Chairman of Cornwall Glass, says “Being part of the community is an important part of who we are and what we do. We feel privileged to have directly supported 65 local groups who are working to improve the lives of people in their areas. In this special 40th year of our business, we wanted to do something to mark this important milestone.”
Cornwall Glass is a family owned business specialising in the manufacture, production and installation of glass and glazing products for commercial, trade, architectural and domestic customers. With 15 branches throughout Cornwall and South West, the company have supported local communities since it all began in 1978. The Cornwall Glass Fund was established in 2009, managed by the Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF) to provide funding for community groups. The Fund has grown and has invested more than £60,000 to 65 community projects within Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to date.
Tamas Haydu, CCF Chief Executive, comments, “Cornwall Glass are an exemplary business having invested with us over the long term to ensure they can help local Cornish communities in perpetuity. The Company’s 40th anniversary is a great achievement and marking it with 40 grant awards of £400 will go a long way in helping community projects across Cornwall.”
Cornwall Glass colleagues take an active role in the decision-making process for the applications to the Fund and this year they will be prioritising projects that demonstrate bringing people together in their local community.
Applications are welcome from constituted registered charities, voluntary Groups, Community Groups and Clubs located in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
