CALLING ALL BUSINESSES IN CORNWALL |

The Cornwall 100 Club is a vehicle for your business to give effective, targeted funding to grassroots organisations and projects in your local communities.
For most of us Cornwall is a wonderful place to live and work with a quality of life second to none. Yet there are also areas of real deprivation in Cornwall, where people are living extremely difficult lives due to poverty, isolation and other disadvantages which are addressed by the hundreds of grants that The Cornwall Community Foundation administer every year. There are people in your community, close to your home and workplace, who need your help.

ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION |
Members of The Cornwall 100 Club will be asked to make an annual donation to The Cornwall Community Foundation of at least £1,000, for a minimum of three years, of which
Half will be used to support local needs through grants decided by the Cornwall 100 Club Panel and administered by The Cornwall Community Foundation,
One quarter will be invested in The Cornwall Community Foundation endowment fund, the income of which will be used to future-proof The Cornwall Community Foundation and make grants to people in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly forever,
One quarter will be used to support The Cornwall Community Foundation itself, including the development of new funds targeting key issues within Cornwall. We estimate that for every pound given to The Cornwall Community Foundation for development, between £10 and £20 will be bought back in for grant making.

| LAUNCHED MARCH 2008 |
The Cornwall 100 Club was officially launched at lunchtime reception at Scorrier House near Chacewater, with the kind permission of Mr and Mrs Richard Williams, on Tuesday 4th March 2008, at an event generously hosted by Coodes Solicitors. Lord George said in his speech
“The Cornwall 100 Club is about more than companies just giving money to good causes. It is a way of encouraging everyone in the company to become engaged with their local community, by helping set up a simple, tax-effective system of payroll giving for each member of staff to contribute, and giving them an opportunity to visits the projects that will be supported by The Cornwall 100 Club Fund.

When I was at the Bank of England we started an organisation called Heart of The City, with the aim of encouraging city businesses to develop community involvement programmes in support of the less privileged in the surrounding East End boroughs.
I have to tell you it proved to be a Win Win Win for those that became involved. It is a win in terms of the company’s image. It is a win too in terms of the morale and motivation – the recruitment and retention of their staff. And it has been a major win too of course for the local communities”
