What Kind Of Fund Can I Have?

You can target your fund and choose the level of involvement you wish to have. Donor advised funds put you in the driving seat, whereas Community Action funds leave the choice of who to support to us. Other funds give you the opportunity to target specific geographic areas or theme your grants by type:

Donor advised funds

give you the opportunity to select charitable groups to receive grants from your fund. You have an active involvement in deciding who to support. Cornwall Community Foundation provides advice and administrative support for your fund. Such funds can have specific criteria for the distribution of grants, which we will help you to establish.

Field of interest funds

enable you to select a broad area of need to support, such as young people or the homeless and let Cornwall Community Foundation find the best projects to support.

Area funds

allow you to nominate a particular area within Cornwall and the Isles Of Scilly to benefit.

Community action funds

are used to respond to the communities within Cornwall and the Isles Of Scilly’s needs. Grant decisions are made by Cornwall Community Foundation staff and supervised by members of the Board.

Designated funds

support specific charitable organisations you identify. If the named charity is no longer active or providing a designated service, another organisation with a similar purpose is selected to receive a grant.
